The purpose of this study is to find types of illocutionary acts used by main character’s utterance in “Twilight” movie. After doing some analyze based on George Yule (1996:47) about the types of illocutionary act and calculated by percentage, the researcher find that there are five types of illocutionary act used by main character. This is indicated by the result percentage representative ( 26 %) has 11 utterances, Expressives (30 %) has 13 utterances , Directives (28 %) has 12 utterances, Commissive (13 %) has 6 utterance and Declrative (2%) has 1 utterance. Based on the result, the researcher get conclusion that the most appear types of illocutionary on this movie is expressive act. It’s means expessive here can’t separate from people in communication because sometimes people express their psychological states with the utterances such as feel dislike, like something and feel sad or sorrow with the conditions. And the researcher provide suggestion for the reader who study about pragmatig or speech act especially illocutionary act, get the media what you like to make your learning easier and wide knowledge.
